Deep Dive Video Response

In class today we watched a video called Deep Dive, which explored the inside of an innovative company that designs and creates innovative ideas. Throughout the video their group was given the task of redesigning the shopping cart. We saw the inside of their company and were taken through their process of thinking. Even though the video seemed to be at least ten years old, the company's attitude seemed a lot more "new-age" than many companies in now a days.

Thing to take note of:

  • Employees could design their own workspace
  • No real hierarchy
  • Encourages any kinds of ideas, even if they're a bit out of the ordinary.
  • Everyone works together- emphasizes group work
Overall, I was really impressed by this company and it seems like it would be a challenging but fun place to work at. I'm curious to see where the company is going now in 2014. Hopefully still designing cool stuff.
